MY APPROACH
I believe that good therapy happens when clients feel understood and challenged. I teach concrete skills to be used in everyday life. Counseling is the process of integrating new skills in order to respond to life’s challenges more effectively. Sometimes the beginning is just about being heard. One needs to understand feelings and reactions before being able to take action and make changes. Learning to manage yourself in relationships reduces stress and anxiety and increases confidence.
In my practice I combine my knowledge of Family Systems , Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory and EMDR to provide high quality, goal oriented treatment.
I am committed to improving my therapy practice through education and
consultation to provide you the most up to date and effective mental health care.

INSURANCES ACCEPTED
The insurances I take are listed below. When you reach out to me it is useful if you indicate the insurance you will be using. It is the responsibility of clients to make sure that their insurance covers my services. A quick call can be useful to ensure that there will be no surprises down the road. Any balances not covered by insurance are the responsibility of the client.
Specific questions to ask your insurance provider are:
Does my plan cover mental health services?
Do you have this therapist listed as in network or out of network?
Will there be a copay or coinsurance? What is my deductible?
How much of my deductible have I already met this year?
What will change after I meet my deductible?
Is this therapist in network or out of network?

“Attend instead to your own actions”
-From The Parents Tao Te Ching by William Martin
There are many ways to get your children
To behave as you wish.
You can force, plead and bribe.
You can manipulate, trick and persuade.
You can use shame, guilt, reason.
These will all rebound upon you.
You will be in constant conflict.
Attend instead to your own actions.
Develop contentment within yourself.
Find peace and love in all you do.
This will keep you busy enough.
There is no need to control others.
If you are able to release some small part
Of your persistent need to control,
You will discover an amazing paradox.
The things you attempted to force
Now begin to occur naturally.
People around you begin to change.
Your children find appropriate behavior
Emerging from within themselves
And are delighted.
Laughter returns to all.
